Memberships, passes and tickets may be used by the scholarship student and one chaperone, and are not intended to be shared outside of the household. Family memberships are not approved. Here is some clarification on purchasing memberships, passes, day passes for students and chaperones.
Chaperone: person who accompanies and is responsible for a scholarship student or group of scholarship students, typically to ensure proper behavior and provide supervision, especially on education related experiences.
Educational expenses: Educational expenses are approved, and refer to costs associated with obtaining education or training. This can include tuition fees, books, supplies, equipment, transportation, and other related costs. Educational expenses are often essential for pursuing formal education at schools, colleges, universities, or other educational institutions.
Extracurricular expenses: Extracurricular expenses refer to costs associated with activities outside the regular academic curriculum, and may require pre-approval. This can include fees for sports teams, music lessons, art classes, and other activities that students participate in outside their standard coursework. Extracurricular expenses can vary depending on the activity and may involve fees for equipment, uniforms, or scholarship student competition registration. Extracurricular activities can provide students with valuable experiences and skills beyond the classroom. An instructor, teacher, tutor or parent of the scholarship student must be present and leading the activity. An immediate family member of a scholarship student may not receive scholarship funds as payment for the parent's time spent educating the parent's child, including parents, siblings and grandparents.
